Purpose of Role

To lead the Development Team of this early stage start up building a Treasury Management system and Trading Platform as our client implement and improve their MVP for their initial client and go to market. You will work closely with the Managing Director forming a partnership so that as the business grows and the MD focuses elsewhere, he knows the Product is in great hands.

Team and Process Management

• The role will be accountable for the performance of the Development team. Success in the role will mean leading your team to deliver on sprints and workplans.
• Manage the Development team using and contribute to the Development of the product meeting workflows and leading sprint cycles.
• You will help create an environment that promotes autonomy and accountability for the team with their developers all feeling accountable and empowered to play their part in the growth of the business.
• The role will also be responsible for scaling their Engineering team over the next 2 years as they scale the business.

Technical Delivery

• Build and manage system security features to ensure data is protected at all times using Azure.
• Deep knowledge of all Microsoft Azure, Data Lakes and Azure Functions.
• Building and maintaining pipelines for Test, UAT and production environment.
• Act as a source of knowledge for development tasks and issues and provide solutions to overcome those issues.
• Have excellent development experience with the following tools:
  • Front end – Angular 9 and above (they will be moving to Angular 11), RxJS, typescript.
  • Back End – SQL and entity framework core.
  • Middle Tier – ASP.Net core, C# and REST API.
• Build and manage system security features to ensure data is protected at all times using Azure.
• Knowledge of all Microsoft Functions; UAT and production is in Azure and Authentication is in Microsoft OAUTH.

Person Specification

• You will have an incredibly hands-on approach, keen to be involved with and understand the Development of the platform.
• You will have experience of the Treasury Management space and you will have built a system within this area.
• You will have a strong intellectual curiosity and be able to drive change and target achievement into a growing and maturing development team and be passionate about all things technology.
• You will be constantly driving and searching for continuous improvement/best practice in a lean environment and their ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and scaling successful technology teams.
• They need someone with excellent technical leadership skills and a solid understanding of what it takes to deliver scalable, distributed, cloud-based systems in a highly available manner within a financial environment, ideally FX.
• The Head of Development will be laser focused over the quality of what the team delivers.
